Easter Egg Hunt

Egg-strodinary, Egg-cellent Parade & Easter Egg Hunt 2005

The Waterbury Rotary Club was egg-cited to see all the parade-marchers and egg-hunters on March 26th for the annual hop down the bunny trail in Waterbury Village. The parade started at Thatcher Brook Primary School and was led by The Waterbury Village Police Cruiser , WDEV, and Mr. & Mrs. Bunny. The parade marched and hopped down Stowe Street to Main Street, where the second village cruiser joined as the safety caboose at the end of the parade. While marching down the "Lane", following Mrs. and Mr . Peter " Cottontail" Bunny, the parade numbers doubled as more kids with bonnets and baskets joined the Easter Parade. They marched from Main Street on to Park Row, quickly hopped over the train tracks and continued to Pilgrim Field where earlier that morning, the Rotarians helped Mr & Mrs Bunny unload their giant basket of eggs. It was estimated that approximately 30,000 or more pieces of candy and stuffed eggs were hidden in the snow covered field. All of the "special" eggs with numbers inside were returned to the Rotarians for the spring toys that were graciously supplied by Mr & Mrs Bunny, but delivered via Rabbit Express at Vincent's Variety Store. The Waterbury Rotary Club would like to thank the following businesses and people for their never-ending support. Vincent's, WDEV and Tom Beardsley, Exit 10, VT Signs and Graphics, Waterbury Village Police Department, GMCR and Pilgrim Park Partnership, Mr & Mrs Bunny for taking time out of their busy schedules to entertain all the kids, Patty and Phil Tomeny, Hannah Morse, and all the families and children who make this event so much fun!
